Welcome to the 2013 McDonald's All American Games POWERADE® Jam Fest!

The 2013 Games kick off on Monday, April 1 with the POWERADE® Jam Fest at the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center on ESPNU with doors opening at 6:00pm CST. 

This high-flying basketball showcase includes the McDonald's All Americans competing in a variety of contests including the Skills Competition, Three-Point Shootout, and the fan favorite Slam Dunk Contest.

Schedule of Events: Monday, April 1st

  6:00 pm - Doors open at the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center

  6:30 pm - National Anthem, Player Intros, warmups

  7:00 pm - Preliminary round for Skills Competition and Three-Point Shootout

  8:00 pm - Final round for Skills Competition and Three-Point Shootout

                  Preliminary and Final round of Slam Dunk Contest (live on ESPNU)

  9:30 pm - Event concludes

Competition Rules  (subject to change) 

Skills Competition

• 16 Players - 8 Boys and 8 Girls - will compete in a two-round timed "obstacle course" event consisting of dribbling, passing & shooting stations.
• There will be two rounds of competition - the three Boy and Girl players with the fastest times from the first round advance to the finals.
• The players will be timed on a clock starting at 00:00.0 and the clock stops when the final shot is made.

Three-Point Shootout

• There are two rounds of shooting - first Boys and then Girls - and scoring is not cumulative
• Five stations are positioned around the three-point line with four brown balls worth one point and one red, white, and blue ball - the Moneyball - worth two points.
• Each participant has one minute to shoot, and the three Boys and Girls with the highest preliminary scores will move on to the final round.

Slam Dunk Contest

• Each player participating in the contest will have 45 seconds to complete a dunk. Two dunks will need to be made in the first round and two in the final round.
• Following each made dunk, the player is scored from 7 to 10 by the judges. After the player has completed both dunks in the first round, the scores are tallied.
• A player may miss dunks as long as the player completes their dunk in the 45 seconds allotted, if that player does not complete a dunk, he will receive a zero.
• The top four players with the highest scores advance to the final round. Scoring does not carry over to the final round.

Net proceeds from the 2013 Games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI). The Games have raised more than $10 million for RMHC since 1978.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Paid parking is available at a parking garage directly across the street from the Ratner Athletic Center (Ellis Ave. Garage). Free parking is also available on the street. Parking rules are strictly enforced.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, all tickets will be scanned and collected upon entrance to the venue.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

No outside food or beverages will be allowed at the event.  All bags are subject to search upon entry.
